Payee preflight API: OFAC screen an address before paying
Fast check of a payee before an agent pays it: OFAC SDN match on the address, account type (wallet, delegated wallet or contract) and nonce on Base, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism or Polygon, and optionally the payee domain's age and trust flags. One block, review or pass verdict with reasons. Screening aid, not legal advice. Use before an x402 or USDC payment to an unfamiliar address; holdings and wallet heuristics: check_counterparty.
When to use it
- Screen the address an x402 seller or invoice asks you to pay before sending USDC
- Check the payee's account type and nonce on Base, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism or Polygon
- Add the payee's domain to see its age and trust flags in the same call
Inputs
| Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
address (required) | string | 0x address you are about to pay |
chain | string | Network of the payment: base (default), eth, arb, op or polygon. One of: base, eth, arb, op, polygon. |
domain | string | Optional: the payee's domain or website URL, e.g. ethereum.org; adds domain age and trust flags |
Request
Over HTTP, with a card key from /credits:
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer adt_…" "https://agent-data-tools.revmesh2074.workers.dev/check/payee?address=0xd8dA6BF26964aF9D7eEd9e03E53415D37aA96045"
Or one of your 25 free calls, no key:
curl "https://agent-data-tools.revmesh2074.workers.dev/check/payee?address=0xd8dA6BF26964aF9D7eEd9e03E53415D37aA96045&trial=1"
Without a key, the same URL answers 402 Payment Required with x402 and MPP terms, so an agent with a wallet pays per call in USDC (Base, Polygon, Arbitrum, Monad, World Chain or Tempo) and retries.

From an AI agent (MCP)
Add the MCP server to Claude, Cursor or any MCP client. This tool is check_payee, and the first 25 successful calls are free:

Questions
How is it different from /check/counterparty?
It skips holdings and the Base wallet and contract heuristics, so it is cheaper and faster; use /check/counterparty when you need those.
Is a pass a guarantee?
No. It is a screening aid; confirm any sanctions match against the official OFAC record.
How do I pay?
Each successful call costs $0.005; failed calls are not charged. The first 25 calls are free. Then pay with card credits (from $5) or per call in USDC over x402 or MPP. No account or API key is needed.
